Wedding Videographer Florence
Cinematic wedding films crafted in the Renaissance heart of Italy by a luxury wedding videographer in Florence from the historic villas above the city to the intimate gardens within it.
Florence is not simply beautiful. It is the place where the Western world first learned what beauty could mean where painting, architecture, and light were understood as a single language. A wedding here carries the weight of that history, and the particular responsibility of doing it justice.
As a luxury wedding videographer in Florence, I work in a city that rewards the filmmaker who moves slowly, looks carefully, and understands that the most powerful frames are often the quietest ones. The frescoed interiors, the Renaissance gardens, the views over the Arno and the terracotta rooftops these are not decorations. They are the context within which a love story unfolds, and they demand to be treated with the same care as the story itself.
What makes Florence different
Unlike the open Tuscan countryside, Florence offers a different kind of cinematic challenge and a different kind of reward. The light here moves through stone and glass, through narrow streets and garden walls, with a quality that changes dramatically between morning and evening. The interiors of the historic villas frescoed ceilings, ancient floors, rooms that have held centuries of celebrations — create a visual density that the open landscape cannot offer.
For couples travelling from the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe or Australia, Florence represents the highest expression of Italian culture art, architecture, cuisine, and a way of living that has no equivalent anywhere else in the world. Working as a luxury wedding videographer in Florence means understanding all of this, and finding the film that lives within it.
In Florence, every wall has a history. Every garden has been seen before. The task is to find the moment within all of that the human one, the unrepeatable one.

The main venues, and what each one offers
Villa Medicea di Lilliano
A Renaissance estate in the hills above Florence, surrounded by historic vineyards and gardens with panoramic views over the city. The loggia, the courtyards, and the warm stone architecture create a setting of refined intimacy — particularly extraordinary in the golden light of late afternoon.
Villa di Maiano
One of the most prestigious venues in the Florentine hills, just 5km from the city centre. The Tapestry Room, the Red Lounge, the sweeping park and the views over Florence create a setting of exceptional visual depth — ideal for larger celebrations with a strong sense of occasion.
Villa Corsini a Mezzomonte
A historic estate with Medici family connections, combining frescoed interiors with generous outdoor spaces close to the city. The architectural elegance of the building and the intimacy of its gardens make it one of the most versatile and cinematically rich venues in the area.
Four Seasons Hotel Florence
One of the most iconic properties in the city — a former palazzo with an extraordinary private garden at its centre. A setting that combines the refinement of historic Florentine architecture with the impeccable service of one of the world’s great luxury hotel brands.

How I work in Florence
Reading the light
Florence has a light that is unlike anywhere else in Italy. The way it reflects off stone, filters through garden walls, and settles over the city in the evening creates opportunities that only last minutes. Years of working in this environment means I know exactly when and where those opportunities arise and how to be in the right position when they do.
Interiors and architecture
Filming inside historic Florentine villas requires a different technical approach than working outdoors. Frescoed ceilings, mixed light sources, narrow corridors and grand salons all demand flexibility, experience, and equipment choices made specifically for this environment. I have worked in all of these spaces and know how to make them look as extraordinary on film as they are in person.
A discreet presence
In a setting as culturally significant as Florence, discretion is not just a professional quality it is a responsibility. I move through the day without imposing, anticipating moments rather than creating them, and always working in harmony with the venue, the planner, and the rhythm of the celebration.
Second filmmaker
For larger celebrations or weddings where preparation, ceremony, and reception unfold across different parts of a villa or palazzo, a second filmmaker ensures that the full breadth of the day is captured allowing the final film to tell a richer, more complete story.

A note from Giancarlo
Giancarlo De Vita
IFlorence is the city that taught the world to look. Every building, every garden, every view across the rooftops carries within it a centuries-old understanding of beauty of proportion, of light, of what it means to create something that lasts. When I film a wedding here, I feel the weight of that tradition and the particular responsibility it places on the filmmaker.
Not to compete with it, but to work within it to find the moments that are true to the couple, and to frame them in a way that honours the extraordinary place in which they have chosen to celebrate. This is what it means to work as a luxury wedding videographer in Florence.
Frequently asked questions
Do you film both in Florence and in the surrounding Tuscan countryside?
Yes. I work regularly both within the city and across the wider Tuscany region from the Florentine hills to the Chianti, the Val d’Orcia, and beyond.
Many couples choose a combination of city and countryside locations for different parts of their celebration.
How far in advance should we book?
For Tuscany weddings especially in peak season (May, June, September, October) I recommend reaching out at least 4 to 6 months in advance.
The most sought-after dates and venues fill quickly, and early contact allows for proper planning and venue coordination.
Is drone footage available in Tuscany?
In most cases, yes. Tuscany offers some of the most extraordinary aerial perspectives in Italy the vineyard patterns, the hilltop villages, the isolated estates surrounded by countryside.
Drone footage is subject to weather and venue permissions, and is confirmed during the planning process.
Do you also film at Castello di Vicarello and La Foce?
Yes, both regularly. Castello di Vicarello in the Maremma and La Foce in the Val d’Orcia are among the most extraordinary venues in Tuscany — I know their light, their rhythm, and how to make the most of their extraordinary settings.
What is the difference between a wedding videographer and a wedding filmmaker?
A videographer documents what happens. A filmmaker crafts a story.
The distinction lies in editorial intention, narrative structure, and the ability to create a film that holds meaning beyond simply recording the events of the day.
