Wedding Videographer Amalfi Coast
Cinematic wedding films crafted along one of the most extraordinary coastlines in the world from the cliffs of Ravello to the bays of Positano, capturing the light, the atmosphere, and the emotion of your day.
There are places in the world where light falls differently. Where the air carries a particular warmth. Where the landscape itself becomes part of the story. The Amalfi Coast is one of those places.
As a luxury Amalfi Coast wedding videographer, i was born and raised in southern Italy. I have filmed weddings along this coastline for years in the gardens of Villa Cimbrone, on the terraces above Positano, in the small churches of Amalfi at the hour when the light turns golden. I know this place not as a visitor, but as someone who grew up within it. That proximity changes how I work, and what I am able to capture.
What makes the Amalfi Coast different
The Amalfi Coast is not a backdrop. It is a presence dramatic, beautiful, and demanding. The steep terrain, the quality of light on the water, the way the air changes at different hours of the day these are not things that can be captured by simply pointing a camera. They require anticipation, knowledge, and an approach shaped by years of working in this specific landscape. For an accurate quote tailored to your wedding, we invite you to get in touch directly.
For couples travelling from the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe or Australia, working with a luxury Amalfi Coast wedding videographer represents a particular kind of choice a place of extraordinary beauty, ancient culture, and atmosphere unlike anywhere else.
The light on the Amalfi Coast changes every hour. A filmmaker who knows this plans for it and builds a film around it.

The main venues, and what each one offers
Perched high above the coastline with panoramic views that stretch to the horizon. Its gardens, terraces, and the legendary Terrace of Infinity create a setting of extraordinary visual depth particularly in the late afternoon light.
Belmond Hotel Caruso · Ravello
A former 11th-century palace transformed into one of the most refined hotels on the coast. Its infinity pool suspended above the sea and intimate garden spaces create an atmosphere of quiet, sophisticated luxury
Villa Tre Ville · Positano
Perched above Positano with private terraces and gardens overlooking the sea. A setting that combines architectural elegance with the raw beauty of the Amalfi coastline intimate, private, and visually extraordinary
Convento di Amalfi & beyond
Historic cliffside architecture, ancient churches, and the town of Amalfi itself offer a different character more textured, more rooted in local culture. These settings suit couples drawn to authenticity and depth.

How I work on the Amalfi Coast
Location knowledge
Years of filming along this coastline means I know exactly where the light falls at different hours, which angles reveal the depth of the landscape, and how to navigate the logistical complexities of venues built into steep cliffs above the sea.

A discreet, documentary presence
My approach is built on observation, not direction. I move through the day quietly, anticipating moments rather than staging them. Couples consistently describe the experience of being filmed as natural and unobtrusive and it is precisely this quality that allows the film to feel authentic.
Second filmmaker
For weddings where key moments unfold simultaneously in different locations, I work with a trusted second filmmaker. This allows the final film to weave together a richer, more layered narrative without any moment going uncaptured.
Drone footage
The Amalfi Coast is one of the most extraordinary settings in the world for aerial cinematography. Drone footage subject to permits and weather conditions adds a dimension to the film that ground-level coverage alone cannot achieve

A note from Giancarlo
Giancarlo De Vita
I grew up on this coast. I know the light here the way it moves across the water in the late afternoon, the particular quality it has in the gardens of Ravello an hour before sunset. I know the silence that falls between the ceremony and the reception, when everything slows down for a moment before the evening begins.
When I film a wedding on the Amalfi Coast, I am not arriving somewhere new. I am working in a place I have known my whole life and that changes everything. Not because of the technical knowledge, but because of the attention. I notice things here that someone discovering the location for the first time simply would not see.
That familiarity, combined with the time I spend understanding each couple before the day, is what I believe makes a wedding film feel genuinely personal rather than simply well-made. This is what it means, to me, to work as a luxury Amalfi Coast wedding videographer not a service, but a responsibility.
Frequently asked questions
Do you work across the entire Amalfi Coast?
Yes. I film regularly in Ravello, Positano, Amalfi, Praiano, Cetara, and across the surrounding area including Capri and Sorrento. Each location has its own character and photographic identity — and I know them all well.
How far in advance should we book?
For Amalfi Coast weddings especially in peak season (May, June, September, October) I recommend reaching out at least 4 to 6 months in advance. The most sought-after dates and venues fill quickly
Is drone footage available on the Amalfi Coast?
In most cases, yes subject to weather, wind conditions, and venue-specific permissions. The Amalfi Coast offers some of the most extraordinary aerial perspectives in Italy, and where possible I incorporate drone footage as a core part of the film.
Do you also film at Villa Cimbrone and Villa Eva??
Yes, both regularly. Villa Cimbrone in Ravello and Villa Eva above Ravello are among my most-filmed venues on the coast — I know their rhythms, their light at different hours, and how to make the most of their extraordinary spaces.
What is the difference between a wedding videographer and a wedding filmmaker?
A videographer documents what happens. A filmmaker crafts a story. The distinction lies in editorial intention, narrative structure, and the ability to create a film that holds meaning beyond simply recording the events of the day.
