Los Angeles & California · Destination Wedding Films
Italian Wedding Videographer for Los Angeles & California Couples
You dreamed of Italy long before you set the date. Somewhere between a film you loved and a trip you never wanted to end, you decided that this is where your story should be told — under the sunlit cliffs of the Amalfi Coast, in a Tuscan villa at golden hour, on a terrace above Lake Como as the light goes soft.
” Some couples don’t just choose a place to marry.
They choose a country to fall in love with.
If Italy is yours, it deserves to be filmed like the story it is. “
I’m Giancarlo De Vita, an Italian wedding filmmaker based in Italy.
I create cinematic destination wedding films for couples who travel here to marry — and a growing part of them fly in from Los Angeles and across California.
You bring the vision of the day; I bring an Italian filmmaker’s eye and a country I’ve spent my life learning to film.
My background is in television production, which taught me storytelling, timing, and how to capture real moments as they unfold, never staged.

An Italian Wedding Videographer for Los Angeles, with a Hollywood Eye
Couples from Los Angeles have a refined eye for cinema — you grew up on it. So it matters that your wedding film is made like one. I bring a filmmaker’s craft together with something you can’t fly in from California: an intimate, native knowledge of Italy — its light, its seasons, its venues, and the quiet logistics that make a destination wedding run beautifully.
That’s the difference between hiring a crew to travel to Italy and choosing a filmmaker who already lives inside it. No jet-lagged team, no guessing where the sun sets in Ravello in June — just a local eye, European elegance, and a film worthy of the place you chose.
The light in Italy changes every hour.
A filmmaker who lives here plans for it — and builds your film around it.
Where California couples say I do in Italy

Ravello · Positano
Cliffside villas above the Tyrrhenian, from Ravello’s gardens to Positano’s terraces. Colour, drama and drone-worthy beauty — the coast that made destination weddings famous.

Florence · Siena
Cypress-lined light, honey-stone villas and endless golden hours. Warm, timeless and quietly romantic — made for a relaxed, elegant celebration.

Bellagio · Cernobbio
Grand villas mirrored in the water and understated glamour. Unmistakably cinematic — loved by couples who want elegance without the crowds.

Venice · Puglia · Umbria
Palazzi on the Grand Canal, Puglia’s whitewashed masserie, Umbria’s green hills. Wherever in Italy you’ve set your heart, I film there.
How I work — Across an ocean and nine time zones
Planning from California
We plan entirely remotely, on calls timed for California. I know the venues, the permits and how the light moves across each region — and I handle every logistical detail on the ground in Italy, so the distance and the nine-hour time difference never become your problem. For more on what a luxury wedding film investment looks like, see our pricing guide.
A discreet, documentary presence
My approach is built on observation, not direction. I move through the day quietly, anticipating moments rather than staging them. Couples consistently describe the experience of being filmed as natural and unobtrusive and it is precisely this quality that allows the film to feel authentic.
Second filmmaker
For weddings where key moments unfold simultaneously in different locations, I work with a trusted second filmmaker. This allows the final film to weave together a richer, more layered narrative without any moment going uncaptured.
Drone footage
Italy’s coastlines, hills and lakes are among the world’s most extraordinary settings for aerial cinematography. Drone footage — subject to permits and weather — adds a dimension that ground-level coverage alone cannot.

What is included
- Pre-wedding consultation to understand your story, venue, and priorities

- Professional audio recording of vows, speeches, and key moments
- Cinematic drone footage (subject to permits and weather)
- Handcrafted editing with colour grading, sound design, and curated music

- Private online delivery gallery with shareable link
A note from Giancarlo
I don’t chase perfection — I chase truth. My favourite frames are never the posed ones: the glance you didn’t know I caught, the tears during the speeches, the way the two of you are when you forget the camera is there.
I work across Italy’s most beautiful places, but what I’m really doing is the same everywhere — paying attention. I spend time understanding each couple long before the day, so the film feels like your story and not a template.
The result is a film that feels like a memory rather than a recording — genuinely yours, not simply well-made. If you’re planning your wedding in Italy from California, I’d love to hear your story. That, to me, is what this work is — not a service, but a responsibility.
Frequently asked questions
Do you work with couples based in the U.S.?
Yes — a growing part of my couples fly in from Los Angeles, California and across the U.S. We plan everything remotely, on a schedule that works for your time zone, and I manage all the on-the-ground logistics in Italy.
How far in advance should we book?
Most couples book 4 to 6 months ahead, and popular spring and autumn dates on the Amalfi Coast, in Tuscany and on Lake Como fill early. If your date is set, reach out as soon as you can.
How does planning work with a nine-hour time difference?
Easily. We use video calls at California-friendly times and keep communication clear from first enquiry to final delivery. You never have to coordinate anything in Italy yourself — that’s my job.
Do you travel across all of Italy?
Yes, destination weddings are my speciality. I film across the Amalfi Coast, Tuscany, Lake Como, Venice, Puglia and Umbria, and handle all travel independently — you don’t need to fly anyone in from the U.S.
What is the difference between a wedding videographer and a wedding filmmaker?
A videographer documents what happens. A filmmaker crafts a story. The distinction lies in editorial intention, narrative structure, and the ability to create a film that holds meaning beyond simply recording the events of the day.
